Cheryl Iron, the founder of Atira, is a Pawnee, Crow, and Navajo artist. She is an enrolled member of the Crow tribe. She graduated from Colorado State University with a Bachelor's Degree in Apparel and Merchandising with a concentration in Design & Production. She was also selected for an outstanding graduate award for her entire department, and was the first Native American to graduate from the Apparel and Merchandising program. Her love for creativity blossomed with sewing when she was only 11 years old, and evolved into a passion for graphic design in recent years which opened up doors for many more opportunities and outlets to share her work.

Atira (Uh-tee-duh) is an Indigenous owned company striving to bring beauty to your world. We specialize in sewing, graphic design, photography, and jewelry making. Atira comes from the Pawnee language meaning "Mother". A mother's love is powerful and unconditional. Mothers and all women are sacred and are knowledge keepers of the teachings that are vital to continue our cultural ways.
